Blythedale Children's Hospital Launches Telehealth Program

Blythedale Children's Hospital and its first-ever telehealth program was featured in the April 24, 2020 Crain's NY Health Pulse Newsletter.

The new, virtual system will support the ongoing needs of 150+ medically complex patients in Blythedale's Day Hospital, outpatient and specialized feeding programs that were closed indefinitely, alongside on-site classes at Mount Pleasant Blythedale Union Free School District, following state mandates linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kids with medical conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, respiratory illnesses, cancer and neuromuscular disorders can now receive speec, occupational, physical and specialized feeding therapy sessions from home via a web-based system.

"Usually we don't make home visits, but it just allows everything to work very nicely," said Larry Levine, president and CEO of the hospital.
