Liam McCarthy

Liam McCarthy, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, joined Blythedale Children’s Hospital in October 2026.

Previously, Liam was the Managing Director of Development at the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) and Senior Director of Institutional Advancement & Strategic Planning at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). Before becoming a fundraiser, Liam began his career as an English teacher at The Hopkins School in Connecticut and subsequently taught and led non-profit programs in New York City for underserved populations, including at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, The Educational Alliance, and ENACT, Inc.

Liam received his undergraduate degree in English from Amherst College and master’s in English Language & Literature from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Commanger Fellow. He also has a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School.
