

Pharmacy
The Pharmacy at Blythedale Children’s Hospital prepares and delivers all medication doses following a unit dose distribution model.
The Department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to patients and staff. Our pharmacists prepare compounds for both enteral and parenteral specialty medications, and provides individualized patient specific weight based unit doses.
Our team reviews the appropriateness of all medication orders, performs admission and discharge medication reconciliations, as well as provide drug therapy and drug monitoring recommendations to the medical and nursing staff.

Staff are active members of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Medication Safety, Infection Prevention and Quality of Care committees.
The Pharmacy plays an integral role in supporting the technological components of the Medication Management system including Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE)- MEDITECH, Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) MEDITECH, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets and Alaris Smart IV infusion pumps.
