Maureen Desimone, R.N., M.S.N., L.N.H.A., serves as Chief Administrative Officer at Blythedale Children’s Hospital and Nursing Home Administrator for The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Pediatric Long Term Care Pavilion. In her role as CAO she has successfully overseen all three phases of the Hospital’s building program, including the 86-bed inpatient unit; new Day Hospital, Early Childhood Center, and The Stavros Niarchos Speech and Audiology Center; and, most recently, the construction of The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Pediatric Long Term Care Pavilion.
Ms. Desimone has held a wide range of nursing, teaching and administrative positions during her nearly 40-year career in health care. She has also been appointed to various state, county and local hospital advisory councils and child health task forces. Ms. Desimone is a member of the Children’s Hospital Association, Hospital Association of New York State and Greater New York Hospital Foundation, New York State Healthcare Facilities Association and, has attended the White House Conference on Early Childhood Development. She received her MS in Community Health from Long Island University and BS in Nursing from Pace University.
