Lauren Lorenz, R.N., is the Director of Nursing for The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Pediatric Long Term Care Pavilion at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. She began her career in nursing at Blythedale in 2010, initially working as a staff nurse and transitioning to the role of Charge Nurse a few years later on the Pediatric/Adolescent TBI Unit. She assumed her current role in 2016.
As Nursing Supervisor, Ms. Lorenz oversees nursing staff on all four of the Hospital's Units, interacting with staff, patients and families on a daily basis. She has also worked in different roles within the organization, including the Interim Acting Director of the Long Term Care Unit and the Interim Acting Director of the Pediatric/Adolescent TBI Unit. Additionally, she has served as Interim Acting Directors for both The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Pediatric Long Term Care Pavilion and Pediatric, Adolescent and TBI Unit during two successful state and federal hospital surveys. Ms. Lorenz is the co-chair of Blythedale’s Safe Patient Handling Committee.
Ms. Lorenz obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Cochran School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hunter College. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College.
