Jessica Dadigan, M.S., CCLS, is the Senior Child Life Specialist for the Child Life Department at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. In this role, she also serves as coordinator for both the internship and volunteer programs in Child Life. Ms. Dadigan has a background in child and family studies, palliative care, Reiki and advanced brain injury training.
Ms. Dadigan completed her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University and received her Master of Science in Child Life at Bank Street College of Education. During her graduate program she completed her certification year-long internship requirement at Blythedale in 2011 and has remained a valued member of the staff ever since. Ms. Dadigan was the primary Specialist for teens on the Child and Adolescent Unit for her first five years at Blythedale and recently transitioned to the role of primary Specialist on the Infant and Toddler Unit. Her main goals as a CCLS are to provide our youngest and tiniest patients with developmental support, while also helping their families cope with hospitalization, illness and injury in the way that works best for each individual family.
Ms. Dadigan serves as liaison between Blythedale and Bank Street College of Education, coordinating the Hospital's Child Life Internship program while also overseeing a robust Child Life volunteer program that provides bedside activities for patients of all ages. Outside of Blythedale, she heads an Alumni Committee for her graduate school and has been a Teacher’s Assistant for this program, sharing her passion for higher education, and training of Child Life students and those pursuing the field.
