True to its mission, education is a vital component of the services offered at Bythedale. In addition to serving as a training ground for the next generation of pediatric specialists, Blythedale is committed to educating parents to be competent caregivers, and serving as an important educational resource to the greater metropolitan region.
For the next generation of professionals
More than 100 colleges and universities throughout the region rely on Blythedale to train aspiring physicians, nurses, and therapists in rotations and residencies. Blythedale’s level of medical excellence makes it an attractive, intellectually stimulating training ground for numerous professionals and students, in various medical, therapy, nursing, and other clinical fields.
For parents
At Blythedale, helping parents grow into their new role as caregiver of a child with complex medical needs is a top priority. Parents whose children rely on sophisticated medical equipment, for example, can turn to our Technology Dependent Program for supportive, detailed caregiver training. Once they’ve completed the appropriate training, they’re able to “go solo” in one of our private rooms, assuming total care of their child overnight or for a day. This experience can identify areas where additional training is needed, and provides parents with an even greater sense of security when they take their child home.
For the community
Blythedale is proud to offer community programs tailored to every aspect of child health, from infant safety to preventing sports injury. Our popular “Eat Well, Be Well,” interactive nutrition program has benefited more than 9,000 children to date, and our new Injury Prevention Program is on track to do the same.
