Our staff of more than 50 physicians includes not only a dedicated fulltime faculty with specialists in such areas as pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation, but also numerous pediatric sub-specialists representing the faculties of virtually every major teaching hospital in the greater metropolitan area. Our pediatricians gather a multidisciplinary team to craft a plan of care individualized to each patient. Our staff joins together as a team with our patients and their families to work towards a bright and healthy future for all the children who come to Blythedale.
All Inpatient and Day Hospital units have a dedicated physician who provides medical care while the child is in the hospital, coordinates the services of the other subspecialties, and supervises the discharge planning process. Additional pediatricians are responsible for the general pediatric care of the inpatients on evenings, nights and weekends.
In addition to the unit pediatricians, family and pediatric nurse practitioners are assigned to the pediatric units as well as to various other outpatient and specialized services.
Pediatric care is available for a wide range of subspecialties. Some of our subspecialty coverage is provided by clinical partnerships with major medical centers in the area. Other pediatric subspecialists are in private practice or base their practice at Blythedale. The following is a list of pediatric subspecialties provided at Blythedale. Unless otherwise noted, services are provided for inpatients, Day Hospital patients and outpatients.
