The Occupational Therapy Department at Blythedale Children’s Hospital provides services to inpatients, Day Hospital patients and outpatients, as well as the community at large. Services include evaluation, treatment and consultation in areas including:
- Cognitive-adaptive skills,
- Developmental skills,
- Daily living skills,
- Equipment services,
- Gross and fine motor coordination,
- Orthotics and prosthetic training,
- Perceptual-motor skills,
- Rehabilitation technology and computer access,
- Sensory-motor integration,
- Therapeutic feeding,
- Upper extremity skills, and
- Wheelchair mobility skills
Occupational therapy services are provided by Registered Occupational Therapists (OTRs) that are licensed with the New York State Department of Education.
