Pediatric Care Programs at Blythedale Children's Hospital: Inpatient Hospital

Inpatient Hospital

The Inpatient service (92 beds) provides comprehensive medical and rehabilitative care to children from birth to 19 years whose complex medical conditions require hospital care. Many of these patients are referred to Blythedale from neonatal or pediatric intensive care units.

Children are admitted for a wide variety of medical conditions. These include complex medical conditions such as traumatic brain injury, pre- and post-organ transplantation, and complex congenital disorders. The inpatient service is divided into three units: infants and toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents. Each unit is run by a board-certified pediatrician who coordinates the interdisciplinary care team. Physicians in all pediatric specialties are available to provide ongoing or consultative services.
