Social WorkThe Department of Social Work at Blythedale Children’s Hospital strives to assist patients and their families in any way as they navigate the vast array of resources available from admission through discharge. A social worker is available to every child and family that receives treatment at Blythedale. Social workers can be a liaison between families and the treating professionals. We can help families with many issues, including adjusting to hospitalization, planning for discharge, connecting to agencies that help children and families with special needs, coordinating transportation to and from the Hospital, and advocating for insurance coverage. Social workers can also assist you with visiting and/or staying over while your child is hospitalized at Blythedale. For further information, please contact Director of Social Work Susan Murray at (914) 831-2443, or email to susangm@blythedale.org Social Workers are also available to provide you with information about our Early Intervention and Committee on Pre-School Special Education programs, as well as assistance in scheduling evaluations and treatment. Lisa Petrucelli is the Coordinator of Early Childhood and Outpatient Programs, and she can be reached at (914) 831-2454 or lisap@blythedale.org. |
