Move-In Day
12/6/2011
At exactly 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, December 6th, 11-year-old Henry was accompanied to his new room in Blythedale's new $65.3 million, 56,000 square-foot inpatient building, by President and CEO Larry Levine. Blythedale staff cheered as Henry, the first patient moved, was wheeled into the new facility. Three-and-a-half minutes later, and right on schedule, Henry's friend and roommate, Jacob, was ushered to the new room on the Pediatric and Adolescent Unit. The boys were eager to test out the new remote controls and start exploring their new surroundings. All of Blythedale's inpatients were transferred, one at at a time, in a precisely orchestrated maneuver. By 2:00 p.m. everyone had successfully made the move to the new facility.
