Blythedale to Open New Day Hospital & Early Childhood Center on 12/3

11/25/2013

Officials from Blythedale Children’s Hospital, the only specialty children’s hospital in New York State, will join patients and families to open its new $15 million Day Hospital & Early Childhood Center on Tuesday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m..

The 8,000-square-foot Day Hospital features new exam rooms, treatment areas, feeding therapy rooms, treatment bays, and a spacious audiology booth that can accommodate children in wheelchairs and stretchers. The Hospital also opens its new Early Childhood Center, which includes five refurbished classrooms to facilitate the program’s growth.

The Center’s debut follows the opening of Blythedale’s new inpatient building in 2011 and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Speech & Audiology in 2012. Together, the new facilities allow the physicians, nurses and therapists at Blythedale to continue providing top quality inpatient, outpatient and Day Hospital services to the region’s most medically fragile patients.
