Free Van Service

Blythedale encourages family members to visit regularly. There are several ways that we can help families in need with the cost of travel. Please speak with your social worker if you need assistance.
Blythedale sends vans to pick up families at various central locations. The vans provide pick-up and drop-off at the following locations:

All vans leave the above locations at 10 a.m. for the trip to Blythedale Children’s Hospital (except the NY Presbyterian van on Monday, which is at 10:30 a.m., and the North Central Bronx Hospital van on Tuesday which is at 10:10 a.m.). All vans leave Blythedale at 2 p.m. for the return trip.

Please remember, all children under the age of eight must travel in a car seat. Please notify your social worker in advance if you will be traveling with a child in need of a car seat. Also be advised that any visitor who will only be using the van in one direction must notify the Social Work Department in order to guarantee a seat on the van.
Blythedale can arrange transportation for a family member to tour the hospital prior to admission. Please contact Director of Social Work, Susan Murray, L.C.S.W., at (914) 831-2443 to arrange a tour.
