Blythedale Children’s Hospital, through the generosity of Kohl’s Department Stores, is now proud to offer another innovative outreach program. Thanks to a $167,322 grant from the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program, Blythedale is able to implement an important Injury Prevention program in Westchester and Putnam Counties.
The program consists of a series of educational and recreational activities in Westchester and lower Putnam Counties aimed at children, school personnel, families and caregivers. Activities include interactive workshops and lectures, a bicycle rally and safety clinics that will provide participants with the skills, knowledge and motivation they need to stay safe at home, at school and at play.
The new Injury Prevention program has already premiered in schools in Rye, Pleasantville, Pelham, Hawthorne and Yorktown. To date, we have educated more than 5,600 children.
